SAFETY ORIENTATION AND RULES FOR GENERAL PAINTBALL PLAY

13.  REST, REFUEL, GAME PLAN

  • ONCE YOUR ROUND HAS ENDED, YOUR TEAM WILL WAIT IN THE LOBBY UNTIL YOUR TEAM IS CALLED BACK OUT TO PLAY
  • UTILIZE THIS TIME TO TAKE OFF YOUR GEAR, GRAB A DRINK, AND COME UP WITH THE GAME PLAN FOR THE NEXT ROUND WITH YOUR TEAM
  • BE SURE TO WIPE OFF OR CLEAN ALL MARKS AFTER EACH ROUND.  THIS WILL ENSURE THAT THE REFEREES DON'T MISTAKE AN OLD HIT FOR ONE THAT HAPPENED DURING YOUR NEXT ROUND.
  • PLEASE DO NOT THROW PAINTBALLS IN THE LOBBY.  IF YOU FORGET, A WET TOWEL WILL BE PROVIDED AT NO ADDITIONAL COST FOR YOUR CLEANING PLEASURE.

12.  TURN IN YOUR MARKER

  • ONCE YOU GET TO THE COUNTER, HAND YOUR MARKER BACK TO ONE OF THE STAFF MEMBERS BEHIND THE COUNTER.
  • THE STAFF MEMBER WILL EMPTY ANY UNUSED PAINTBALLS BACK INTO AN EMPTY POD AND HAND YOU THAT POD.
  • TAKE YOUR POD AND HEAD BACK TO THE BLACK SWING-DOOR AND ENTER THE LOBBY.
  • ONCE YOU HAVE ENTERED THE LOBBY, YOU MAY REMOVE YOUR MASK AND CELEBRATE YOUR VICTORY!!!

11.  HEAD TO THE DOOR

  • ONCE THE 2ND GAME HAS ENDED, THE REFEREES WILL ANNOUNCE THE END OF THAT ROUND BY NOTIFYING EVERYONE TO "HEAD TO THE DOOR".  THIS MEANS THEY WANT EVERYONE TO POWER OFF THEIR MARKER OR ENGAGE THE SAFETY.  AFTER THAT HAS BEEN COMPLETED, PLACE THE BARREL SLEEVE PROPERLY OVER THE TIP OF YOUR BARREL. YOUR MARKER IS NOW CONSIDERED SAFE TO LEAVE THE ARENA.
  • ONCE YOUR MARKER IS SAFE, YOU MUST CHECK WITH ONE OF THE REFEREES BEFORE LEAVING THE ARENA. THEY WILL VERIFY IT IS SAFE AND NOTIFY YOU THAT YOUR CLEAR TO LEAVE THE ARENA. AT THIS POINT YOU MAY EXIT AND HEAD BACK UP THE HALLWAY TOWARDS THE COUNTER WHERE THE MARKER WAS HANDED TO YOU BEFORE ENTERING.
    • NEVER LEAVE THE ARENA UNLESS A REFEREE HAS INDICATED YOU ARE CLEAR TO HEAD OUT.

10.  2ND GAME

  • TYPICALLY ONCE THE FIRST GAME HAS ENDED, THE REFEREES WILL TELL BOTH TEAMS TO SWITCH SIDES OF THE ARENA TO BEGIN A 2ND GAME.  YOU WILL PLAY THE SAME GAME JUST STARTING FROM THE OPPOSITE SIDE OF THE ARENA. SAME RULES APPLY TO THE 2ND GAME.

9.  GAME OVER

  • DURING THE GAME, WHEN YOU HEAR ANY REFEREE BLOW THE WHISTLE, THAT SIGNIFIES THAT GAME HAS ENDED.
    • THERE IS ABSOLUTELY NO FIRING ALLOWED AFTER THAT POINT
      • IF ANY FIRING AFTER THE WHISTLE IS DEEMED BY THE REFEREES TO BE AN AGGRESSIVE ACT TOWARDS ANY PERSON, THAT SHOOTER WILL BE ASKED TO SIT OUT FOR A MINIMUM OF ONE ROUND OR MAY BE ASKED TO LEAVE FOR THE REMAINDER OF THE DAY.  AGAIN, WE ARE ALL HERE TO HAVE FUN.

8.  HITS

  • WHILE PLAYING, ANY PAINTBALL THAT HITS YOU AND BREAKS COUNTS AS A "HIT".  AT THIS POINT YOU MUST PUT YOUR HAND HIGH IN THE AIR TO VISUALLY SIGNAL YOU OPPONENTS THAT YOU ARE OUT AND LOUDLY YELL "I'M OUT" TO VERBALLY NOTIFY THEM AS WELL.  KEEP YOUR HAND IN THE AIR AND MAKE YOUR WAY BEHIND THE NEAREST/SAFEST SAFETY NET.
    • THE SAFETY NET SURROUNDS THE ENTIRE ARENA FROM THE CEILING TO THE FLOOR WITH SPACE BEHIND FOR DEAD PLAYERS.
  • ANY PAINTBALL THAT HITS YOU AND BOUNCES OFF WITHOUT LEAVING A PAINT SPLATTER ON YOUR BODY DOES NOT COUNT AS A HIT. KEEP ON PLAYING
  • ANY PAINTBALL THAT HITS YOUR MARKER DOES NOT COUNT AS A HIT, WHETHER IT BREAKS OR NOT.  KEEP ON PLAYING.
  • ANY PAINTBALL THAT HITS ANOTHER OBJECT, OTHER THAN YOUR BODY, AND SPLATTERS YOU DOES NOT COUNT AS A HIT.  IT MUST BE A DIRECT HIT FROM A PAINTBALL.  KEEP ON PLAYING
  • ANY TIME YOU GET HIT WITH A PAINTBALL BUT ARE UNABLE TO SEE WHETHER OR NOT IT BROKE, JUST YELL "PAINT CHECK" OVER AND OVER UNTIL A REFEREE COMES TO VERIFY IF YOU ARE "HIT" AND MUST EXIT THE PLAYING AREA OR YOU ARE "CLEAN" AND MAY CONTINUE PLAYING.
  • ALL CALLS BY THE REFEREE ARE FINAL.  DO NOT ARGUE WITH THE REFEREES.  WE ARE ALL HERE TO HAVE FUN.

7.  UNIVERSAL RULES

  • REGARDLESS OF WHAT GAME YOU ARE PLAYING, THERE ARE SOME RULES THAT MUST BE FOLLOWED AT ALL TIMES WHILE IN OUR ARENA.
    • MASK ON AT ALL TIMES
      • YOU MAY NOT REMOVE OR PULL THE MASK AWAY FROM YOUR FACE AT ANY TIME.
    • NO BLIND FIRING
      • YOU MUST ALWAYS BE ABLE TO SEE WHAT YOU ARE SHOOTING AT.  YOU CANNOT JUST STICK THE MARKER AROUND OR OVER TOP OF A BUNKER AND START FIRING.  IF YOU CANNOT SEE WHERE THE PAINTBALLS ARE GOING, YOU ARE BLIND FIRING.
    • BUNKER AWAY
      • YOU MUST BE AT LEAST ONE INFLATABLE BUNKER AWAY FROM ANY OPPONENT YOU ARE TRYING TO MARK.  AT NO TIME ARE YOU ALLOWED TO RUN UP TO OR ALONG SIDE ANY BUNKER AN OPPONENT IS HIDING BEHIND AND FIRE UPON THAT OPPONENT.
      • YOU MUST BE BEHIND A BUNKER TO SHOOT AT ANOTHER PLAYER
    •  DO NOT SHOOT AT THE CEILING OR LIGHTS
    • DO NOT SHOOT WHILE BEHIND THE SAFETY NET
    • DO NOT REMOVE OR PULL YOUR MASK AWAY FROM YOUR FACE WHILE BEHIND THE SAFETY NET
    • DO NOT OVERSHOOT ANY PLAYERS
      • OVERSHOOTING IS SENDING MORE THAN THREE PAINTBALLS AT A DEFFENSLESS PLAYER.  USUALLY FROM THE SIDE OR BACK WHEN THEY ARE UNAWARE OF YOUR PRESENCE.
    • DO NOT FIRE UPON "DEAD PLAYERS" THAT HAVE ALREADY BEEN "HIT"
    • DO NOT PICK UP PAINTBALLS OFF THE GROUND
      • ANY PAINTBALLS YOU PICK UP OFF THE GROUND  WILL MOST LIKELY BE DIRTY.  DIRTY PAINTBALLS WILL JAM YOUR MARKER DURING YOUR ROUND OF PLAY  AND CAUSE YOU TO MISS OUT ON PLAYING TIME.
    • SUPERMAN DIVING IS NOT ALLOWED IN THE ARENA
    • NO JUMPING OVER BUNKERS
    • NO MOVING THE BUNKERS IN THE ARENA

6.  STARTING GAME #1

  • ONCE BOTH TEAMS HAVE GATHERED BEHIND THEIR STARTING BUNKER, THE HEAD REFEREE WILL START THE GAME BY ANOUNCING "GAME STARTS IN 3, 2, 1" AND THEN BLOWS A WHISTLE.  ONCE THE REFEREE BLOWS THE WHISTLE, IT IS "GAME ON!!!
  • START SHOOTING AT ANYONE THAT IS NOT ON THE SAME TEAM AS YOU.

5.  ENTERING THE ARENA

  • AFTER YOU ENTER THE ARENA, YOU ARE THEN ALLOWED TO POWER ON YOUR MARKER OR DISENGAGE YOUR SAFETY, REMOVE THE BARREL SLEEVE, AND TAKE A "COUPLE" TEST SHOTS TO ENSURE YOUR MARKER IS OPERATING PROPERLY.  STAFF WILL HELP YOU WITH ANY ISSUES AT THIS TIME, BEFORE THE GAME STARTS, IF YOU ARE HAVING ANY PROBLEMS WITH YOUR EQUIPMENT.
  • ONCE BOTH TEAMS HAVE ENTERED THE ARENA, THE HEAD REFEREE WILL EXPLAIN THE RULES OF THE SPECIFIC GAME YOU ARE ABOUT TO PLAY (SINGLE SHOT ELIMINATION, CAPTURE THE FLAG, VITALS, RESPAWN, INFECTED, ETC.).  AFTER EXPLAINING THE GAME AND ANSWERING ANY QUESTIONS, THE REFEREE WILL NOTIFY EACH TEAM WHICH SIDE THEY ARE STARTING FROM.

4.  RECEIVING YOUR PAINTBALL MARKER

  •  ONCE YOU HEAD THROUGH THE DOORWAY, WITH YOUR MASK ON, YOU WILL HAND YOUR POD OF PAINTBALLS TO ONE OF THE STAFF MEMBERS STANDING BEHIND THE COUNTER.  THAT STAFF MEMBER WILL POUR THE PAINTBALLS INTO A PAINTBALL MARKER AND HAND YOU  THAT MARKER.  WE HOLD ON TO THE EMPTY POD WHILE YOU ARE PLAYING.  YOU WILL THEN HEAD DOWN THE HALLWAY  TOWARDS THE PAINTBALL ARENA.

3.  TEAMS

  • THE STAFF MEMBER CONDUCTING YOUR SAFETY ORIENTATION WILL PLACE YOU OR YOUR GROUP ON A TEAM.  TEAMS USUALLY  CONSIST OF 10 TO 15 PLAYERS PER TEAM.  TEAMS ARE IDENTIFIED BY DIFFERENT COLOR PINNIES/JERSEYS.  WHEN YOUR TEAM'S COLOR IS CALLED TO PLAY, YOU WILL HEAD TO THE BLACK SWING-DOOR LOCATED AT THE ORANGE WALL WITH YOUR MASK AND POD OF PAINTBALLS.  YOU MUST PLACE THE MASK PROPERLY OVER YOUR FACE BEFORE HEADING THROUGH THE DOORWAY.

2.  EQUIPMENT RECEIVED AFTER SAFETY ORIENTATION

  • EACH PLAYER USING OUR RENTAL EQUIPMENT WILL RECEIVE A SAFETY MASK AND 1 PAINTBALL POD.  PODS ARE USED TO CARRY  YOUR PAINTBALLS TO AND FROM THE PAINTBALL ARENA.
  •  IT IS IMPORTANT TO HAVE THE LID FACING UP WHEN CARRYING IT SO THE LID DOES NOT POP OPEN AND CAUSE YOU TO SPILL ALL YOUR PAINTBALLS.  WHEN YOU ARE NOT PLAYING, IT IS BEST TO SET YOUR POD ON A TABLE AND NOT WALK AROUND WITH IT TO AVOID SPILLING.
  • YOU ARE RESPONSIBLE FOR YOUR PAINTBALLS AT ALL TIMES.  SPILLED PAINTBALLS WILL NOT BE REPLACED.

1.  MASK ON

  • MOST IMPORTANTLY, MASK/GOGGLE MUST BE ON BEFORE ENTERING THE DOORWAY INTO OUR PAINTBALL ARENA.
    • THIS IS THE BLACK SWING-DOOR LOCATED ON THE ORANGE WALL.
  • YOUR MASK MUST STAY ON YOUR FACE AT ALL TIMES WHILE YOU ARE IN THE PAINTBALL ARENA.
    • MASKS MAY NOT BE TAKEN OFF OR PULLED AWAY FROM YOUR FACE AT ANY TIME OR FOR ANY REASON.
      • IF YOU FAIL TO FOLLOW THIS RULE, YOU MAY BE ASKED TO LEAVE THE ARENA FOR THE REMAINDER OF THAT ROUND.
      • DEPENDING ON THE CIRCUMSTANCES AND AT THE DISCRETION OF STAFF AND MANAGEMENT, YOU MAY POSSIBLY BE ASKED TO DISCONTINUE PLAYING FOR THE REMAINDER OF THE DAY.
